Burbujas(bubbles) in Santa Clara

I have been meaning to write a bit about my host community here in Panama, where I am spending my first 10 months in the Peace Corps. But rather than get all wordy, or have much of a point at all, I decided it might be better to do a little photo montage of blowing bubbles with my little host brother, Abdias, who just might be my favorite person here in Panama, which is saying a lot, because I really love all the peeps down here.

We like to spend a lot of our time drawing together, playing with my camera and pretending to do yoga. Santa Clara, the community I am living in (about 1 hour outside of panama city) is pretty small, nary even a restaurant or coffee shop tovisit. (although we do have one bar open two nights a week). This means everyone here spends a lot of quality time home with the fam, which I really like.

Also, I think it worth mentioning that my mom, pictured here to the left, is an excellent (though salty) cook and I eat a lot of delicious beans and rice, patacones (fried plantains), fresh mangoes and avocado. I am a happy bubble blower.

And to end, I think this is one mucho rad photo.
